The aims were to share current good practice and learn as a group from our experiences.
Colin Munro, the Financial Controller at Central Office, attended the meeting.
Topics covered included:
- a new Financial Handbook which we are devising for all Member Associations
- a new policy on Effective Financial Management and Reporting
- accounting software package developments
The Bangladesh Member Association was able to share their recent experience of this process.
Volunteer treasurers as well as staff attended.
The group had a useful discussion on how to organize and utilize Audit Committees within their organizations.
This was the second such event in the region aimed at financial staff and volunteers.
Colin Munro said "we hope that the experience will strengthen the working relationships between staff and volunteers as well as allow colleagues at a senior level to share ideas with each other".
