Atashendartini Habsjah is a researcher in Public Health and Urban Slums in Indonesia. She graduated from the University of Amsterdam with a Masters in Anthropology in 1980.
Atashendartini has been involved in IPPF’s Indonesian Member Association, the Indonesian Planned Parenthood Association (IPPA), since 2004.
When it comes to sexual and reproductive health and rights her areas of specialist interest include campaigning to reduce high levels of maternal mortality. She is also interested in promoting adolescent reproductive health and advocating for safe abortion services.
Atashendartin is an activist campaigning against violence to women. In the past she was a lecturer in the Women Studies Department at the University of Indonesia.
