If a Member Association is accredited it means that it meets our 65 membership standards.

IPPF is a federation of 152 Member Associations, each making a contribution to sexual and reproductive health in its country in its own way. 

Diversity is one of our strengths.

IPPF believes that each Member Association is united by a set of core values, a shared vision and a strong sense of solidarity, despite the very different situations that each Member Association works in.

To check the validity of this belief, we introduced an accreditation system. We systematically reviewed each Member Association’s adherence to 65 essential standards and responsibilities of membership.

So far 105 Member Associations are accredited. 

The remaining Member Associations are in the process of completing their plan of action to bring them into full compliance with the standards.

All Member Associations that had undergone an accreditation review between 2003 – 2006 were invited to participate in the evaluation.
