In 2007/8 8.5 out of 10 of IPPF’s clients were people who were poor, marginalized, socially-excluded/under-served.

This is our most recent data. We collect data annually and will publish the 2008/9 figures in due course.

Is IPPF a UK registered charity?

Yes, IPPF is registered with the Charity Commission in the United Kingdom and has the charity number 229476.

You can view our details via the Charity Commission website (www.charity-commission.gov.uk) including details of the latest Annual Return and Summary Information Return which we are required to submit each year along with our audited financial statements.

What is the purpose of the IPPF financial statements?
Each year, as a United Kingdom registered charity, IPPF is required to prepare financial statements that show the income and expenditure (statement of financial activities) for the period in question as well as the assets and liabilities (balance sheet) of the organization at the year end (31 December).

IPPF Financial Statements are available to download as PDFs, going back to 2001.

If you would like to receive a paper copy these are available on request from the Financial Controller, IPPF, 4 Newham's Row, London SE1 3UZ.

The financial statements are audited by KPMG who are one of the largest accounting and auditing firms in the world. Please see a statement from our auditors.

Governance
Our highest policy-making body is our Governing Council. Find out more about Our Trustees.

Public Benefit
In April 2008 the Charity Commission guidance on Public Benefit was considered by IPPF.

The Governing Council confirm that the aims of the organization meet the charitable purposes as outlined in the Charities Act 2006 and that IPPF is engaged with purposes in relation to the ‘advancement of health or the saving of lives’ and the ‘advancement of human rights’.

As outlined in the Strategic Framework, IPPF is engaged in purposes which have general public benefit in all the countries in which we currently work with our Member Associations.

We work through one organization in each of these countries.

Member Associations do not pay any fee to become or maintain their membership of IPPF.

Through the global indicators we assess our stated mission to meet the needs of poor, marginalized, socially-excluded and/or under-served groups and thus meet the criteria to ensure that those in poverty are not excluded from our help.
