Practice Manager - Strengthening Civil Society Response


Key Tasks


Responsible for the coordination of technical assistance in a portfolio which focuses on Strengthening the Civil Society response, including governance, advocacy,  support to vulnerable populations, improving coverage and quality of interventions, stigma reduction and GIPA.

  • Practice Manager will provide expert input into all consultancy assignments that relate to Strengthening Civil Society responses to HIV
  • Work with clients on initial planning of technical support interventions, reviewing consultant terms of reference and “quality assuring” consultant reports
  • Identify potential local and regional consultants in portfolio areas
  • Manage processes in relation to securing and serving technical support assignments in portfolio
  • Identify gaps where TSF services may be required, and build demand for TSF services
  • For several countries in the region, maintain key information the status of the epidemic and the response
  • Represent TSF as required and provide necessary reporting to stakeholders.  

Necessary skills and attributes

5 years of experience working in HIV, with a strong grasp of:

  • technical issues in HIV and AIDS (especially in coverage and quality of interventions; support to vulnerable populations, civil society response);
  • the shape and trends of the Asian and Pacific epidemics;
  • the roles of government and civil society in combating the epidemic, funding flows and other external support; and
  • experience or knowledge of more than one country in the region. 

Others:

  • Excellent communication skills in English. 
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Initiative and ability to manage efficiently multiple tasks. 
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and a good team player.
  • Accustomed to operating at a highly professional level in a busy environment. 
  • Comfortable working with very senior people. 
  • Effective user of Microsoft Office software.
