Vicky Claeys (Belgium) is the Regional Director of the European Network. She has been the Regional Director since 2003.
From 1981 to 1996, Vicky Claeys was the Executive Director of the Belgian-Flemish IPPF Member Association (currently Sensoa).
As Regional Director she is responsible for:
- relations with volunteers and member associations
- ensuring that the whole European Network is operating according to IPPF’s mission and values and fulfilling its strategic priorities
She has been involved with the European Network since 1983.
Since 1996 she served as Liaison Officer for IPPF, and was asked to set up an office in Brussels to improve contacts with the European Union.
When in 1999 the EN Regional Office moved from London to Brussels, she was appointed as the Advocacy Manager.
Her work then focused on advocating for sexual and reproductive rights in European institutions and networking with other non-governmental organizations (NGOs) and agencies.
