"Being able to help these girls and change their motivations and ambitions is a marvellous thing.
My work as an actress helps as it is easier to reach the public through the medium of a soap opera, but fame can get in the way of my social work".
Profamilia is the IPPF Member Association in Colombia.
"Profamilia trained me in terms of Sexual and Reproductive Health, talking to young people and on the messages they want to relay, and I volunteer whenever they ask me.
I have been on their books for around five years.

I believe it is important for couples to make joint decisions rather than the man deciding everything.
The most challenging thing has been working with poor communities where the educational levels are low and many girls believe the only option open to them is to have a baby, with no thought to how they are going to look after the child.
I am glad that there are organizations like Profamila who teach young people about love, sex and respect and are there to provide people with information when they need it".
