Inspire: an IPPF resource pack on youth friendly programming

This resource pack seeks to inspire young people and IPPF staff to:

• Think differently regarding our work for, and with, young people;
• Rethink youth programming and go out of the comfort zone of our work;
• Assess how we are working now and how we can make the strategic framework a reality;
• Develop new programmes based on IPPF’s core values, guidelines and best practices
• Build the capacity of staff and young volunteers;
• Convince those people who play a key role in the development of youth programming.

Inspire has 5 main parts which showcases how to operationalize IPPF’s 5 adolescent strategic objectives.

Depending on what objective your organization or Member Association find useful and important to tackle, Inspire can support you and your colleagues to rethink and implement that particular objective.

Inspire provides:

  • self assessment tools
  • guidelines
  • frameworks
  • standardized training/capacity building tools

for all 5 objectives.

It is divided into the following sections:

Provide: A self-assessment guide to increase young people’s access to a broad range of youth friendly services.

Participate: A self-assessment guide to strengthen meaningful participation of young people in programmes and policies.

Explore: A toolkit to support young people as researchers on sexuality and sexual decision making.

Springboard: A hands-on guide to developing effective youth friendly centres.

Advocate: an advocacy guide for young people to strengthen public and political commitment and support for their sexual and reproductive health and rights.

Future parts of the Inspire Resource Pack will include:

Educate: a framework to increase access to comprehensive and gender sensitive sexual and reproductive health information and education.
