This publication aims to inspire and assist programme developers, project managers and service providers to strengthen their work on men’s sexual and reproductive health – as an essential ingredient of gender-transformative programming.
Involving men and boys in sexual and reproductive health (SRH) and HIV programmes is critical: for their own benefit, that of women and girls, and for enhancing gender equality.
The publication combines facts and figures, contributions from international experts and illustrative case studies to highlight the needs and rights of different groups of men and boys and showcase best practice from across the world; including:
• Young men and boys
• Married men
• Men who have sex with men
• Men who inject drugs
• Male and transgender sex workers
• Men and boys living with HIV
'The Truth About…Men, Boys and Sex: Gender transformative policies and programming' has been made possible through the Japan Trust Fund for HIV/AIDS, and most case studies highlight the effective and innovative projects supported through the Fund.
