Commission on the Status of Women

2007

Below you will find the draft agreed conclusions and the Agreed Conclusions of the Commission on the Status of Women.

A further resolution put forward by the United States on elimination of harmful practices of prenatal sex selection and female infanticide has been withdrawn.

The discussion on the draft Agreed Conclusions can be traced below – those sections in bold are the alterations/deletions/amendments that the various Member States would like to see reflected in the final outcome document – the Agreed Conclusions.

The changes marked below only reflect the amendments made to the first part of the Agreed Conclusions (the preambular paragraphs) and not the operational paragraphs which were negotiated throughout the week.

1. Women, the girl child and HIV/AIDS
(Lesotho on behalf of the Southern African Development Community)

2. Situation of and assistance to Palestinian women
(Pakistan on behalf of the Group of 77 and China)

3. Forced and early marriage
(United States of America)
