Shortages of reproductive health supplies such as:
are undermining progress towards achieving the poverty reduction targets included in the Millennium Development Goals and the International Conference on Population and Development’s Programme of Action.
IPPF's response to the supplies gap is a partnership initiative in collaboration with Population Action International and the German Foundation for World Population.
Advocating for reproductive health supplies
We advocate for increased financial resources for reproductive health supplies at global, regional and national levels.
Not only has this coordinated advocacy generated support for reproductive health supplies, it will help meet the goals of the Reproductive Health Supplies Coalition by:
- Improving access to reproductive health supplies for low and moderate income consumers
- Increasing overall political and financial commitment for reproductive health supplies
IPPF's role in Project RMA is to develop advocacy for increased resources for reproductive health supplies at the national level in six countries:
-
Bangladesh
-
Ghana
-
Mexico
-
Nicaragua
-
Tanzania
-
Uganda
