Nassim volunteers in Tajikistan

“My main goal is to help others to overcome the pain of social exclusion.”

Nassim is an ex-drug user and outreach worker in Sudmand, TFPA, in Tajikistan.

"Due to my addiction, my life became unbearable.

I failed university, lost the trust of my family and left for Russia, where my addiction became even worse.

I got help in Russia and decided to come back and try to get my life under control.

After seeing TFPA’s advertisement for outreach workers, I joined the organization and, since then, it has changed my life a lot.

I am very happy with my work.

I am able to help and share my experiences with other young people with drug problems.

Being an ex-drug addict means being an outcast of society.

Thanks to my work and the organisation, I have met nice people and my biggest wish now is to get married.

I know that being an ex-drug addict means that you are never 100% over your addiction and that it is very hard to get the trust back from your family and friends.

My main goal is, therefore, to help others to overcome the pain of social exclusion and show them ways of getting back into “normal” life".
