Princess of Africa, singer, humanitarian and icon, Yvonne Chaka Chaka will be in the UK performing at the Copper Box Arena at the Afrikafest Concert next week.

Yvonne Chaka Chaka has been supporting IPPF’s work on sexual and reproductive health and rights and gender since her visit to our Member Association, Family Guidance Association Ethiopia in 2013.

Chaka Chaka has a longstanding commitment to women and girls and her passion for music that will move hearts. She is a champion for gender equality and health and especially in areas where social protections are weak.

“We must nurture and empower our young girls,” Chaka Chaka said. “We can lift them up through education. They are the future. Without equal access to education for girls, Africa will not become the powerhouse of the world. We need girls in school, not brides.”
