Samoa Family Health Association

As the leading sexual and reproductive health rights (SRHR) service provider in Samoa, the Samoa Family Health Association (SFHA) delivers family planning and reproductive health services through three static clinics (two in Upolu and one in Savaii), and two mobile units (one in both islands) which visit rural areas and other outer islands three times a week to provide educational and contraceptive services to vulnerable communities.  The association as the leading and champion of SRHR within the country has been very active for the past years also acting as an advisor on SRHR to the Government of Samoa.  Our main strategic focus are to Champion Rights, to Empower Communities, to Serve the People, and to Unite and Perform.   Primary objectives: to galvanize and secure legislative policy and practice improvements; to encourage young people to access CSE education and information; to deliver rights based SRH services including for family planning; to enhance operational effectiveness and grow our volunteer and activist supporter base. We work closely with other NGOs and private sector in the provision of services, creating an enabling environment for the association to provide SRHR services both awareness and clinically to workplaces.    SFHA is a major stakeholder of the Health Sector, and we work in close partnerships with other government ministries like the Ministry of Health, Ministry of Education, Sports & Culture, Ministry of Police, Ministry of Natural resources & Environment, National Human Rights Institute (Office of the Ombudsman), and others in the provision of services both awareness and clinically to the community at large.   We also collaborate closely with the Disaster Management Office in the provision of SRH and FP humanitarian services throughout the country, particularly for vulnerable communities.

Family Planning Organization of the Philippines

It seeks to secure universal access to quality family planning information education and services, with a view to enabling people to make active personal decisions about their sexual and reproductive health (SRH). FPOP aims to mobilize public support for the individual’s right to practise family planning and as a result, a major target is young people. Additionally, there is a real need in the Philippines for men to take a more active role in family planning and parenting, and FPOP is at the forefront of developing and implementing strategies to achieve this objective. It operates more than 1,100 services points, including 29 permanent and 27 mobile clinics and has a network of over 1,000 community-based distributors/community-based services (CBDs/CBSs). Clinics provide voluntary surgical contraception, reversible contraception, medical and laboratory services, and fertility awareness advice. The delivery models which FPOP has developed have been adopted and replicated by public health authorities, and FPOP has significant advisory input to the national SRH policy agenda.

New Zealand Family Planning

Family Planning New Zealand runs 30 permanent clinics which offer a range of sexual and reproductive health services, including contraceptive advice and prescriptions, insertion of contraceptive implants and intra uterine devices, testing and treatment of sexually transmitted infections (STIs) including HIV, pregnancy testing and advice, and cervical screening. Family Planning provides early medical abortion at two of its clinics. We also provide clinical training and development courses for doctors, nurses, midwives and other health professionals.   We also run schools-based clinics, predominantly in high needs areas, and its health promoters operate out of 15 locations across the country. The health promoters work with schools, parents, and caregivers to lead courses on sexual and reproductive health (SRH). Since sexuality education became a compulsory component of the health curriculum in New Zealand schools in 2001, Family Planning has developed a range of curriculum aligned teaching resources and courses to support teachers and school staff to deliver effective SRH lessons.  The organisation plays a key role in advocating at national and international level for legislative change to promote the right to control SRH as a fundamental human right. It is the secretariat for the New Zealand Parliamentarians Group on Population and Development, where the organisation’s expertise in delivering services to answer people’s SRH needs provides a practical grounding for policy improvements.

MFWA works closely with both governmental and non-governmental agencies to secure good quality sexual and reproductive health (SRH) provision for the Mongolian people. The organization runs clinics and education and counselling facilities, in pursuit of its ultimate objective: universal access to sexual health services, and universal recognition that exercising informed control over SRH is a fundamental human right.

Services include sexual and reproductive health consultation, assistance and prescribing, contraceptive counselling and fertility management, and the promotion of women’s independence through economic/work-based initiatives.  We also work with marginalized groups who face SRHR challenges, including refugees, migrant workers, indigenous groups and the LGBTIQ community. FRHAM provides SRHR training and workshops to corporate bodies and specialises in adolescent’s rights in SRHR.

The Korea Population, Health and Welfare Association (KoPHWA), is a leading non-profit organization in South Korea founded under the Maternal and Child Health Law, and has played a great role in the successful implementation of population and reproductive health programmes since 1961.   Our Vision:  To become a leading agency in family planning that promotes and ensures a healthy community.    Our Mission:   To become a supportive partner through improving sexual and reproductive healthcare for individuals and families.    Our Goals:  To improve quality of life by responding to population change;  To realize healthy social networks in the community;   To operate a professional and creative organization.   In pursuit of these goals, KoPHWA runs a wide range of information, education, and communication (IEC) programmes to raise public awareness of population issues and is active in young people’s education and participation.   We deliver Maternal and Child Health (MCH) and Family Health services, particularly to women and children through 13 branch clinics; we also provide mobile OB-GYN services to increase women's access to medical and health information and services, especially the marginalized groups. KoPHWA’s works of developing and distributing high-quality materials have consistently contributed to creating a family-friendly childbirth and childcare environment as well as promoting good sexual and reproductive health practice.

The Korea Population, Health and Welfare Association (KoPHWA), is a leading non-profit organization in South Korea founded under the Maternal and Child Health Law, and has played a great role in the successful implementation of population and reproductive health programmes since 1961.   Our Vision:  To become a leading agency in family planning that promotes and ensures a healthy community.    Our Mission:   To become a supportive partner through improving sexual and reproductive healthcare for individuals and families.    Our Goals:  To improve quality of life by responding to population change;  To realize healthy social networks in the community;   To operate a professional and creative organization.   In pursuit of these goals, KoPHWA runs a wide range of information, education, and communication (IEC) programmes to raise public awareness of population issues and is active in young people’s education and participation.   We deliver Maternal and Child Health (MCH) and Family Health services, particularly to women and children through 13 branch clinics; we also provide mobile OB-GYN services to increase women's access to medical and health information and services, especially the marginalized groups. KoPHWA’s works of developing and distributing high-quality materials have consistently contributed to creating a family-friendly childbirth and childcare environment as well as promoting good sexual and reproductive health practice.
