Elizabeth Schaffer* (Trustee member of the committee)
An external candidate, Elizabeth Schaffer has been the interim Chief Financial Officer at Amnesty International USA since 2019. Since 1993 she has worked as a Consultant, Coach and Trainer. Previously, she was Chief Financial Officer at TNTP from 2017 to 2019 and before that she was Chief Operating Officer at the Global Fund for Women from 2012 to 2017. She has been a Board Member of the Criterion Institute from 2016 to 2018 and a Steering Committee Member for Women Effect in the same period. She was also on the Board of Equal Rights Advocates between 2002 and 2009 and again from 2013 to 2017.

Bience Gawanas (Trustee member of the committee)
An external candidate, Bience Gawanas has been the UN Under Secretary General and Special Adviser on Africa since 2018. She is a Barrister-at-Law and an Advocate of the Namibian High Court. Bience was previously a Special Adviser to Minister of Poverty Eradication and Social Welfare from 2015 to 2018 and before this was a Special Adviser to the Minister of Health and Social Services from 2013 to 2015. She has also been a Commissioner for Social Affairs for the African Union and an Ombudswoman for the Republic of Namibia. Amongst the skills required for the Board of Trustees, Bience can point to legal expertise; experience of advocacy and working with government; and leadership in SRHR. She is from Southern Africa, currently located in the USA. She also has lived in Zambia for 2 years, Angola for 2 years, the UK for 6 years, Ethiopia for 9 years, the USA for 2 years, Cuba for 2 years, as well as South Africa on and off for over 5 years.

Co-founder of TOSCA, a tribe of independent sustainability professionals. She was also founder and CEO of VERA community, (which enables female entrepreneurs to get funding for their business) and chair, Audit Committee of Rutgers.
An MA volunteer, Lakshan Seneviratne founded Be The Change Federation, is an Author, and a Director of W.U.Seneviratne & Co, a family business. He has been Assistant Treasurer to the National Council of the Family Planning Association of Sri Lanka, Board Member of Lanka Plus Association, Volunteer of Sri Lankan United Nation Friendship Organisation and Youth Member of Red Cross Sri Lanka. Additionally, he has been Youth Ambassador of Ashoka Sri Lanka and Member of the Youth Parliament of Sri Lanka. Amongst the skills required for the C-FAR committee, Lakshan can point to skills in finance, investment and risk management. Lakshan is from South Asia, specifically Sri Lanka and is under 25 years old at this time.
