During the International Planned Parenthood Federation (IPPF) Global Gathering in Bangkok IPPF and Kansai Paint, which produces a mosquito repelling paint named ‘Anti-MosQ’,  agreed a new partnership. This is part of IPPF’s efforts to explore new partnerships with private sector.

Kansai Paint introduced its collaboration with FRHAM (IPPF’s Member Association in Malaysia), where Anti-MosQ , mosquito repelling paint has helped to improve clinic environments and boosted protection for clients and staff from mosquito bites.

Kansai Paint and IPPF have agreed that AMODEFA (IPPF Member Association in Mozambique) clinics will also benefit from the paint.

IPPF Director General, Tewodros Melesse said:

”IPPF is grateful for Kansai Paint’s support to our member associations in Asia and Africa. The danger from mosquito bites is well documented.  Kansai Paint’s mosquito repelling paint helps to improve the environment of our MA clinics.  IPPF hopes to evolve the partnership into a sustainable win-win relationship.”

Mr Yu Akaki, Managing Director of Kansai Paint Europe said:

‘Kansai Paint is happy to join IPPF’s important Global Gathering.  We will continue to our efforts to contribute through products that enhance people’s quality of life by preventing mosquito-borne diseases.  IPPF’s activities are a good match for our sense of corporate social responsibility and we  look forward to trying new ways of working with IPPF.”
