A new global campaign launched by the International Planned Parenthood Federation (IPPF) today is throwing down the gauntlet to world leaders to support people’s basic sexual and reproductive rights – so people can decide what happens to their bodies, who they live with and whether or not they become pregnant.
The I decide campaign will have more than 50 IPPF Member Associations holding events across the world to highlight the situation of people who are not able to make decisions about their own lives due to stigma, discrimination or abuse.
The Central American nation of El Salvador is the most densely populated country in the Americas. With the collapse of international coffee prices, the economic situation has worsened in some rural areas, with particular pressures on young people. ADS, our Member Association in El Salvador, is the largest sexual and reproductive health non-governmental organization in El Salvador, providing over 430,000 services in 2008. This video highlights their work with a particular focus on serving youth, rural populations and those under-served by the public sector.
