“Babies don't wait because there's a war. Periods don't stop because there's a war.” – Caroline Hickson, Regional Director for IPPF’s European Network

Over the past few weeks, the world has watched in horror and disbelief at the events unfolding in Ukraine. Hostilities are ongoing and civilians are under heavy bombardment in a number of cities. As of 18 March, nearly 9.8 million people have been forcibly displaced, including more than 3.3 million who have fled the country.

During humanitarian crises, sexual and reproductive healthcare is often overlooked – but the reality is that daily sexual and reproductive healthcare needs remains an urgent priority. This includes essential care for pregnant people, access to period products, as well as ensuring people who need sexual and reproductive health assistance have access to the right information.

IPPF is working with partners on the ground in Poland, Hungary and surrounding countries to link those fleeing the conflict with critical sexual and reproductive health services as well as provide them with essential items such as personal hygiene kits, menstrual hygiene products, blankets, clothes, newborn kits, and diapers.

With your generous donation, you can help us reach more women and children with essential items during their time of need.
