IPPF is looking for 1-3 research consultants who will contribute to developing a research proposal.

Deadline

Overview of the consultancy

IPPF has a long history of commitment to provision of a continuum of HIV services, including prevention, testing, treatment and care as a human right and critical element of sexual and reproductive health. As a part of HIV services, some MAs offer pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP). IPPF is currently expanding the number of countries where PrEP is offered, and rolling out the latest HIV prevention methods, including oral, vaginal, and injectable PrEP. IPPF is planning to conduct an implementation research study to contribute to identification of effective approaches for offering biomedical HIV methods to those most in need of HIV prevention, in the context of integrated sexual and reproductive health services. This research study will be conducted in a number of African countries.

IPPF is looking for 1-3 research consultants who will contribute to developing the research proposal.

The research proposal development process will take place between July and November 2024 and will include:

  • Development of site assessment tools
  • Site assessments in multiple African countries
  • Development and implementation of a consultative stakeholder meeting to refine research questions and methods
  • Analysis of site assessments and consultative meeting
  • Development of research proposal

Overview of IPPF

Established in 1952, IPPF commits to lead a locally owned, globally connected civil society movement that provides services and advocates for sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR) for all, especially poor and under-served communities. Today IPPF is a worldwide movement of 120 nationally-owned organizations, called Member Associations (MAs), as well as 29 collaborative partners, covering 149 countries in total. These local partners (collectively referred to as MAs) have long-standing government relationships and a core mandate to reach under-served communities. IPPF MAs operate 41,057 service delivery points globally.

IPPF offers a comprehensive approach to sexual and reproductive health through its Integrated Package of Essential Services (IPES) which is offered at MA service delivery points. The IPES includes contraception, abortion care, obstetrics and gynaecology, HIV testing, HIV prevention, HIV care and treatment, services for sexually transmitted infections and reproductive tract infections, fertility support, and support for sexual and gender-based violence.
