SheDecides

Starting salary £48,573 per annum

SheDecides is a global political movement driving change, fuelled by actions in communities, with young people at its heart. The movement has been effective since January 2017 as a result of the reinstatement and expansion of the Global Gag Rule and has grown significantly since then. The movement is now guided by a Strategy 2019-2021 and a costed workplan and is embarking on a new hosting arrangement for the SheDecides Support Unit (SDSU) under the auspices of the International Planned Parenthood Foundation (IPPF).

The SheDecides Movement Catalyst will be responsible for growing the global movement (including local movements) worldwide. They will oversee the development and implementation of movement building initiatives, build strategic relationships with priority movements and forge stronger links with sister movements.

With a focus on youth involvement, the postholder will also look to facilitate meaningful youth engagement in all aspects and levels of the SheDecides movement and identify opportunities for youth leaders to engage in strategic global processes. They will also engage with strategic global stakeholders (including UN agencies) to build alliances and effective joint working.

The successful candidate will have significant experience in public policy, women’s rights, international development or movement building. They will also have experience in organising global meetings, experience of advancing gender equality and sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR) and working in partnerships on multi country initiatives. They will have excellent interpersonal skills (particularly in building credibility with young people) and the ability to transform strategies into results.
