Member Associations

The Antigua Planned Parenthood Association is part of the Caribbean Family Planning Affiliation (CFPA).  The Antigua Planned Parenthood Association is the only non-government organization providing a comprehensive range of sexual and reproductive health services. Our goals and objectives are to provide the Antiguan/Barbudan population with safe, affordable, and reliable healthcare including family planning based on informed consent. We deliver an average of 15,960 services each year through our static clinic and 13 pharmacies, we also have 11 physicians. The Caribbean Family Planning Affiliation (CFPA) is the only regional non-governmental organization (NGO) devoted to family planning and sexual and reproductive health in the Caribbean. CPFA serves 12 island Member Associations and 5 Associate Member Associations in the Caribbean, Central and South America. It supports these Associations with technical assistance and materials, and represents their collective interests at IPPF meetings and in the Caribbean region among governments and NGOs. CFPA Member Associations are located in Anguilla, Antigua, Aruba, Bahamas, Bermuda, Curacao, Dominica, Grenada, Guadeloupe, Martinique, St. Lucia and St. Vincent. CFPA Associate Member Associations are located in Belize, Barbados, Guyana, Jamaica, Suriname, and Trinidad and Tobago. The CFPA does not offer any clinical services or distribute family planning methods to clients, but rather focuses its work on governance and institution-building among its Member Associations. The CFPA oversees, manages and analyses core grants to 7 Caribbean Member Associations. The CFPA also submits project proposals for donor funding on behalf of the Associations. 

Established in 1957 as a grass-root movement, the Mauritius Family Planning & Welfare Association (MFPWA) was one of the earliest organizations in Africa focusing on family planning issues. As the nation struggled to find a way to address pressing population issues, a group of advocates formed MFPWA and started to provide contraceptive services directly to women. In 2018 the MFPWA is governed by an Act of Parliament 2018 as a body corporate.  Today, the organization caters for the sexual and reproductive health (SRH) needs of the whole community. It also has particular strands of activity relating to specific groups including sexually abused children, elderly people, men and marginalized populations on Rodrigues and Agalega Islands.   MFPWA has 30 staff and 50 volunteers and offers services through 2 permanent facilities and several service points.  It also runs a day care centre for infants and children as a social enterprise initiative. The Association delivers services that include family planning, the prevention and management of HIV through voluntary counselling and testing, infertility management, antenatal and post-natal care, post-abortion care, the diagnosis and treatment of sexually transmitted infections (STIs) and screening for cancers of the reproductive systems in particular breast, cervical and prostate.  The Association began its first rehabilitation of sexually abused children in 2003 and has built a solid reputation in the domain. Services for the rehabilitation of victims of gender based violence had been extended to Rodrigues Island on a pilot basis in 2019. The Member Association also operates peer-educator-led outreach programmes targeting work places, namely: hotels, manufacturing industries, call centres, male-dominated sectors such as transport, police, agriculture and fisheries.   MFPWA has played a critical role in promoting the integration of comprehensive sexuality education into the national school curriculum and its powerful, informed advocacy has been influential in shaping government’s agenda and policies on SRH and population issues. MFPWA partners with and advises government departments which address health, quality of life, women’s rights, child development, family welfare, social security and youth and sports.  MFPWA works with a large number of non-governmental organizations (NGOs), para-statal and government institutions and international partners like UNFPA, Help Age International and the European Union.   

Aruba's social and economic challenges during the 1960s has led to the creation of a framework for working together to improve the sexual and reproductive health of the Aruban community. As a result, the Foundation for the Promotion of Responsible Parenthood - Aruba, also referred to as Family Planning Aruba (FPA), was launched on 24 November 1970. Over the past seventy years FPA has fulfilled some of its members/clients and services. Awendia FPA annually provides service to approximately 4,200 clients, reaching 5,250 students with comprehensive sexuality education, distributing 20,000 contraceptive products and 150,000 condoms annually. FPA has over forty-nine years of experience in the field, is recognized as a partner of the International Planned Parenthood Federation and the Aruban Government and has played a crucial role in providing leadership in the family planning movement in Aruba. The mission of the Foundation for the Promotion of Responsible Parenthood - Aruba is to promote the right and accessibility of service, guidance, information and education on contraception and sexual and reproductive health in the Aruban community, without any discrimination of race, religion, political, or sexual orientation.

Founded in 1976, the Dominica Planned Parenthood Association (DPPA) focused on providing information and education to support the government’s clinical service delivery programme in its early years. It began delivering contraceptive services in response to the significant contraceptive needs of Dominicans (particularly among adolescents), and the staffing constraints of the government programme. As a result, people could be sure of at least one inexpensive, private outlet where their family planning needs could be fully met. DPPA’s clinic is located the centre of the capital city and provides a range of services including family planning, pregnancy tests, family counselling and PAP smear screening. There’s an established community outreach programme which provides family planning through volunteers and shop owners, and an extensive programme of information and education activities. These include distributing pamphlets and posters, broadcasting short talks about family planning on radio and television and conducting community discussions. The negative effects of Dominca’s high adolescent pregnancy rate are aggravated by local practices that force pregnant girls to drop out of school permanently. To reach young people, DPPA provides sexuality and life skills education in secondary schools and to adolescents outside the school system through rap sessions, lectures, discussions and films. DPPA has also established an Under 20 Club, a teen group that trains its members as peer educators. Formed in 1965, today the Association Guadeloupéenne pour le Planning Familial (AGPF), also known as La Maternite Consciente, oversees maternal and child welfare, and manages immunization, sexually transmitted infections (STIs) and HIV/AIDS programmes. It also monitors other work and needs related to sexual and reproductive health (SRH). It operates 5 clinics, which provide contraceptive services, emergency contraception, pregnancy tests, pap smears, STI screening and pre- and post-abortion counselling. AGPF also delivers outreach educational services on contraception and SRH in Creole, to promote the use of clinical services, particularly among migrants from neighbouring islands such as Dominca, Haiti and St.Lucia, who frequently wish to use SRH services but are unable to pay. AGPF's principal source of income is the local government, called the Conseile Generale. The St. Lucia Planned Parenthood Association (SLPPA) is an affiliated member of the International Planned Parenthood Federation (IPPF).  The St. Lucia Planned Parenthood Association a private, voluntary, non-profit organization which was formed in 1968, with the objective of promoting, providing and advocating for Sexual and Reproductive Health services and rights for all St. Lucian.St. Lucia Planned Parenthood Association continues to be the main source of information on Sexual and Reproductive Health services in St. Lucia. Our main clinic is located in Castries with a piolet clinic in Soufriere as well as a mobile clinic.Though our clinics and 100+ community based distribution points on average we offer over 60,000 services annually. 

Created in 1965, APROFA is a non-profit public interest organization with more than 50 years of experience in the defense of sexual and reproductive rights of all people. They provide sexual health care with a gender perspective and a rights-based approach that facilitates access and information on safe and effective contraceptive methods, allowing people to make decisions in tune with their lifestyles and thus avoid unplanned pregnancies, sexually transmitted infections, prevent situations of gender-based violence and all those possibilities that come with the lack of information. They have developed a line of education, generating awareness and training activities for the educational community in general, families and health professionals, with the purpose that more people are trained in Comprehensive Sexuality Education and thus children and young people receive the tools and skills to live a life free of violence, without gender stereotypes, have negotiation strategies and inhabit the consent. They aspire to a world where all people are free to decide; free to seek a healthy and responsible sexual life; and a world where gender, gender identity and sexuality are free.

Colectivo Rebeldía began its activities in March 1995. A group of feminist women articulated to, from our rebellions, influence and broaden the impact of the dreams of dignity and full life for women. Their mission - from critical and purposeful rebellion, recreating feminism through sexual freedoms, knowledge, dialogues, and knowledge together with empowered women and organizations, transforming society, the economy, and politics to live well. As they draw close to their third decade, Colectivo Rebeldía remains a powerful front for the women's and feminist movement at a local and national level in Bolivia. The Reproductive Health Network Kenya (RHNK) is a network of health professionals within private and public facilities committed to Comprehensive Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights, advocacy and service provision. The network was formed to provide evidence-based information and quality comprehensive reproductive health services in Kenya. RHNK’s main strategic goal is to contribute to the reduction of maternal morbidity and mortality with a focus on the two among other five causes of maternal mortality and morbidity which is postpartum haemorrhage and unsafe abortion. RHNK runs a network of trained Adolescents and youth headed by RHNK adolescents and youth program officer. The adolescents and youth network is effective in providing CSRH information, referrals and linkage to services. With the rising opposition which was witnessed immediately after the reinstatement and expansion of the global gag rule also known as the Mexican policy, RHNK with other civil society organizations developed Strategies to counter opposition. The pool of RHNK trained health care providers to provide SRH information and services, including comprehensive abortion care across the country. Action Et Développement (AcDev) is a Non Governmental Organisation for Development Support which has been in existence for 31 years. Today, it is recognised as one of the most important Senegalese NGOs with proven expertise and considerable experience in the provision of community health and the creation of demand at the community level. AcDEV is mainly involved in reproductive health in general, the sexual and reproductive health of young people and adolescents, and the fight against gender-based violence in particular. AcDEV operates in nine regions of Senegal with a national headquarters in Dakar, two permanent regional headquarters in Fatick and Louga and focal points in the remaining regions. AcDEV has more than 104 staff spread across its intervention zones. Since its creation, the NGO has built five health centres, two reproductive health centres for young people and adolescents, a vocational training centre for young girls, 55 rural huts and maternity units, and a mobile RH/FP team. The areas of intervention are: strengthening the skills of organisations and actors, advocacy for RH/FP and the SRHR of young people, IEC/BCC, the sustainability of its interventions through the implementation of income-generating activities and the strengthening of women's economic power.
