Community Healthcare Initiative (CHI) is a local non-governmental organization that has been providing healthcare and social services to women and children in underserved and hard-to-reach communities in Liberia since 2014. CHI prime mandate is to strengthen and promote healthcare and social services, women’s rights, child’s rights and peace in Liberia through awareness, service delivery, and outreach programs in hard-to-reach communities and persons living in impoverished and disadvantaged urban communities. We improve mother’s and children's health. We promote and educate on women and child rights. Our programs and services focus on youth development, healthy living, and social responsibilities according to their unique needs. Vision Access to Healthcare, freedom, and dignity to everyone regardless of race, ethnicity, and sex, free of violence and human rights abuses. Mission Working together for socio-economic development in communities, through strengthening their capacity and the implementation of the programs and health, protection, and humanitarian interventions with a participatory approach at all levels of society to defeat poverty and promote healthcare and social services throughout Liberia. CHI has many years of experience working with partners in Liberia on women and girls’ rights, CSOs strengthening, community development, and improving communities’ access to quality education, health & SRHR, sustainable livelihoods, and Community Resilience to conflict. CHI has an excellent experience in awareness-raising around sexual violence issues and providing psychosocial support for survivors. Currently, CHI is part of the Civil Society National Reference Group working with UNWOMEN on the Spotlight Initiative which aims at a global financing mechanism to support the implementation of SDGs mainly goals 5 and 16, and will contribute to the alignment and synergy of the United Nations Development System. Beneficiaries and target groups CHI beneficiaries and target groups include vulnerable women and girls, post-abortion care providers, Law and policymakers, young people survivors of any form of GBV including survivors of IVP (Intimate Partner Violence), survivors of harmful traditional practices, survivors who are members of marginalized groups (LGBTI+, sex workers, extremely poor, people living with disabilities,)   Network and Partnership: CHI is a part of the coalition, networks, and partnerships including the Working Group on FGM in Liberia, the County Development Coalition, Consortium of Women Rights in Liberia, the Women NGOs Secretariat, the National Civil Society Council; and the Liberian Women Humanitarian Network. Globally; the Network of Emergency Aid Responders (NEAR) and Feminist Humanitarian Network (FHN). Building on Community Healthcare Initiative services, we opened the first SRHR services clinic in Liberia in 2023. The SRHR services provided at the clinic includes family planning, comprehensive sexuality education, maternal health and safe and legal abortion services. The SRHR clinic use women-centered and right-based approaches to provide comprehensive SRHR healthcare including abortion. Additionally, CHI operates a women and children clinic since November 2021, that addresses the healthcare needs of vulnerable population in Margibi County.

The Reproductive Health Network Kenya (RHNK) is a network of health professionals within private and public facilities committed to Comprehensive Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights, advocacy and service provision. The network was formed to provide evidence-based information and quality comprehensive reproductive health services in Kenya. RHNK’s main strategic goal is to contribute to the reduction of maternal morbidity and mortality with a focus on the two among other five causes of maternal mortality and morbidity which is postpartum haemorrhage and unsafe abortion. RHNK runs a network of trained Adolescents and youth headed by RHNK adolescents and youth program officer. The adolescents and youth network is effective in providing CSRH information, referrals and linkage to services. With the rising opposition which was witnessed immediately after the reinstatement and expansion of the global gag rule also known as the Mexican policy, RHNK with other civil society organizations developed Strategies to counter opposition. The pool of RHNK trained health care providers to provide SRH information and services, including comprehensive abortion care across the country. Action Et Développement (AcDev) is a Non Governmental Organisation for Development Support which has been in existence for 31 years. Today, it is recognised as one of the most important Senegalese NGOs with proven expertise and considerable experience in the provision of community health and the creation of demand at the community level. AcDEV is mainly involved in reproductive health in general, the sexual and reproductive health of young people and adolescents, and the fight against gender-based violence in particular. AcDEV operates in nine regions of Senegal with a national headquarters in Dakar, two permanent regional headquarters in Fatick and Louga and focal points in the remaining regions. AcDEV has more than 104 staff spread across its intervention zones. Since its creation, the NGO has built five health centres, two reproductive health centres for young people and adolescents, a vocational training centre for young girls, 55 rural huts and maternity units, and a mobile RH/FP team. The areas of intervention are: strengthening the skills of organisations and actors, advocacy for RH/FP and the SRHR of young people, IEC/BCC, the sustainability of its interventions through the implementation of income-generating activities and the strengthening of women's economic power. Formed in 2011 as a theatre for development/ edutainment group and later registered in 2015, My Age Zimbabwe Trust is a youth-led organization that champions youth leadership, participation, gender equality, and the health and rights of adolescents and young people. It harnesses evidence and unites diverse voices to spark a commitment to youth-related issues. Anchored in sexual and reproductive health, we advocate for the rights of young people across every aspect of their lives. The organization is committed to the promotion of young people’s access to Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR).  We subscribe to the notion that SRHR education, information, and services should be accessible to everyone in the human rights framework including adolescents and young sex workers, LGBTIQ+, and young people with disabilities. Associação Santomense para Promoção Familiar was founded on August 23, 1995, is an Associate Member of IPPF, with a Board of Directors made up of 5 members, 4 of whom are volunteers and 1 staff member, and has a volunteer body made up of 280 members. 

Health Development Initiative (HDI-Rwanda) is a non-profit organization based in Kigali, Rwanda, dedicated to improving healthcare quality and accessibility for all. Our approach is rooted in human rights, aiming to build a society where every person can attain optimal health and well-being, regardless of their social, cultural, economic or any other status. Established in 1957 as a grass-root movement, the Mauritius Family Planning & Welfare Association (MFPWA) was one of the earliest organizations in Africa focusing on family planning issues. As the nation struggled to find a way to address pressing population issues, a group of advocates formed MFPWA and started to provide contraceptive services directly to women. In 2018 the MFPWA is governed by an Act of Parliament 2018 as a body corporate.  Today, the organization caters for the sexual and reproductive health (SRH) needs of the whole community. It also has particular strands of activity relating to specific groups including sexually abused children, elderly people, men and marginalized populations on Rodrigues and Agalega Islands.   MFPWA has 30 staff and 50 volunteers and offers services through 2 permanent facilities and several service points.  It also runs a day care centre for infants and children as a social enterprise initiative. The Association delivers services that include family planning, the prevention and management of HIV through voluntary counselling and testing, infertility management, antenatal and post-natal care, post-abortion care, the diagnosis and treatment of sexually transmitted infections (STIs) and screening for cancers of the reproductive systems in particular breast, cervical and prostate.  The Association began its first rehabilitation of sexually abused children in 2003 and has built a solid reputation in the domain. Services for the rehabilitation of victims of gender based violence had been extended to Rodrigues Island on a pilot basis in 2019. The Member Association also operates peer-educator-led outreach programmes targeting work places, namely: hotels, manufacturing industries, call centres, male-dominated sectors such as transport, police, agriculture and fisheries.   MFPWA has played a critical role in promoting the integration of comprehensive sexuality education into the national school curriculum and its powerful, informed advocacy has been influential in shaping government’s agenda and policies on SRH and population issues. MFPWA partners with and advises government departments which address health, quality of life, women’s rights, child development, family welfare, social security and youth and sports.  MFPWA works with a large number of non-governmental organizations (NGOs), para-statal and government institutions and international partners like UNFPA, Help Age International and the European Union.   

Positive Vibes is a progressive, Namibian-registered organization that focuses on advancing queer rights and human rights in Southern, East, and West Africa, as well as in Southeast Asia, Southwest Asia, and Central America.The organization works at the intersection of human rights, health, and Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) to create an inclusive society where all individuals, regardless of gender, sexuality, or background, have the opportunity to participate in civic, developmental, and political processes, including making decisions about their sexual and reproductive health.The organization supports marginalized and vulnerable groups, including LGBTQ+ individuals, sex workers, and women-led groups, by ensuring access to comprehensive SRHR services and promoting social, policy, and structural change.Positive Vibes empowers these communities to raise their voices, engage at local and national levels, and contribute to positive change. Their approach is grounded in the belief that people have the right to lead their own lives and movements, strengthening communities to achieve broader goals of social inclusion, justice, equity, and comprehensive sexual and reproductive health rights for all.

Reproductive Health Association of South Sudan

The Foundation for Research on Women’s Health, Productivity and the Environment (BAFROW) is a non-profit organization that complements the development efforts of the Government of The Gambia and other national partners through a holistic and integrated Social and Economic Empowerment Program geared towards improving the quality of life of the most vulnerable and marginalized people, especially women and girls, in targeted rural and urban communities. The overall goal of our program is to empower communities to take charge of their health and economic well-being, with emphasis on their sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR). BAFROW’s approach Our approach is holistic, multi-dimensional and multi-sectoral and based on the principle that sound health is closely linked with economic well-being, knowledge and skills, conducive physical and social environments, good personal and environmental hygiene, and the absence of all cultural practices that affect the health and well-being of women and girls, thereby bridging gaps and creating linkages between these issues.
