The International Planned Parenthood Federation stands in solidarity and sympathy for all those affected by the Orlando tragedy.
Our Federation fights for people’s rights to be equal and free from harm and discrimination. These are basic human rights. But around the world, they are denied daily to people through violence, abuse and coercion, and through criminalization and discrimination.
Many lost their lives in this tragedy. Twenty three were from Puerto Rico. A country that is also in mourning and trying to support their families in this difficult moment.
We will continue to push for a world in which sexuality is recognized both as a natural and precious aspect of life and as a fundamental human right. A world in which choices are fully respected and where stigma and discrimination have no place. We are proud to be part of a movement that stands for love and dignity.
