Member Associations

SEXUAL HEALTH Switzerland (SANTÉ SEXUELLE Suisse)is the umbrella organisation of the Swiss centers for sexual and reproductive health and the professional associations active in the areas education and counselling on sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR). SEXUAL HEALTH Switzerland runs a total of three offices in the French, the German and Italian speaking region of Switzerland.  In its role as umbrella organisation, SEXUAL HEALTH Switzerland offers information and guidelines for professionals, develops and coordinates the training for professionals together with the universities of applied sciences and advocates for SRHR on cantonal, national and international level. Moreover, SEXUAL HEALTH Switzerland is partner of the Federal office of Public Health for the implementation of the Swiss national programme on HIV and other sexually transmitted infections (STI) 2011-2017. SEXUAL HEALTH Switzerland has developed a broad variety of materials on different SRHR topics that contribute to reach out to different target groups as for example to persons with disabilities or migrants. SEXUAL HEALTH Switzerland has also created the website sex-i that provides up-to-date and high quality information on a wide range of sexual health issues in twelve languages. Another important area of work is the promotion of comprehensive sexuality education in Switzerland. In this context, SEXUAL HEALTH Switzerland has established an alliance on sexuality education that includes more than 65 organisations. SEXUAL HEALTH Switzerland provides the secretariat of the Swiss parliamentary group CAIRE+. Moreover, SEXUAL HEALTH Switzerland is partner of Countdown 2030 Europe, a European consortium under the lead of IPPF Europe that advocates for increased international aid for family planning and sexual and reproductive health. Formed in 1965, today the Association Guadeloupéenne pour le Planning Familial (AGPF), also known as La Maternite Consciente, oversees maternal and child welfare, and manages immunization, sexually transmitted infections (STIs) and HIV/AIDS programmes. It also monitors other work and needs related to sexual and reproductive health (SRH). It operates 5 clinics, which provide contraceptive services, emergency contraception, pregnancy tests, pap smears, STI screening and pre- and post-abortion counselling. AGPF also delivers outreach educational services on contraception and SRH in Creole, to promote the use of clinical services, particularly among migrants from neighbouring islands such as Dominca, Haiti and St.Lucia, who frequently wish to use SRH services but are unable to pay. AGPF's principal source of income is the local government, called the Conseile Generale. AGPF is an associate member of an umbrella organization known as the Caribbean Family Planning Affiliation Ltd (CFPA). The Caribbean Family Planning Affiliation (CFPA) is the only regional non-governmental organization (NGO) devoted to family planning and sexual and reproductive health in the Caribbean. CFPA serves 13 island Member Associations and 5 Associate Member Associations in the Caribbean, Central and South America. It supports these Associations with technical assistance and materials, and represents their collective interests at IPPF meetings and in the Caribbean region among governments and NGOs. CFPA Member Associations are located in Anguilla, Antigua, Aruba, Bahamas, Bermuda, Curacao, Dominica, Grenada, Guadeloupe, Martinique, Nevis and St. Kitts, St. Lucia and St. Vincent. CFPA Associate Member Associations are located in Belize, Barbados, Guyana, Jamaica, Suriname, and Trinidad and Tobago. The CFPA does not offer any clinical services or distribute family planning methods to clients, but rather focuses its work on governance and institution-building among its Member Associations. The CFPA oversees, manages and analyses core grants to 7 Caribbean Member Associations. The CFPA also submits project proposals for donor funding on behalf of the Associations.
