In 2015 at the UN the world’s government agree the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), a framework of 17 inter-related goals covering social, economic and environmental areas of development which governments aim to achieve by 20130.
Goal 3 focuses on health and Goal 5 on gender equality and women’s empowerment. Both goals have target to ensure universal access to sexual and reproductive healthcare.
