The Lebanese Association for Family Health “SALAMA” was founded in 2008 (26 Nov 2008) under the Statement of Registration No. 1740. It is a member association of the International Planned Parenthood Federation (IPPF) which is the largest voluntary non-governmental organization in the world, working on sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR) issues and advocating for them. Vision: All people in Lebanon are able to make informed choices regarding their sexual and reproductive health and rights SRHR in a society free of discrimination. Mission: SALAMA advocates for sexual and reproductive health and rights SRHR, promotes and provides high quality services, and raises awareness for all groups in the society, particularly the under-served and marginalized. SALAMA seeks to improve the quality of life of individuals and to ensure the community development through the following objectives: 1. Gain Support of decision makers and champions to modify, approve and activate laws and develop national strategies related to SRHR issues. 2. Strengthen partnerships with non- governmental and private organizations, women and youth groups, and champions to advocate for SRHR. 3. Empower youth on comprehensive sexuality education CSE in order to fulfill their sexual and reproductive rights. 4. Increase awareness of community and individuals on SRHR issues, stressing on engaging champions, intellectuals and media. 5. Provide high-quality SRH services, particularly to the marginalized and displaced people. 6. Enable SRH services especially to the marginalized and displaced people through other stakeholders. 7. Enhance the effectiveness of the association and mobilize resources. 8. Established in June 2009 as a not-for-profit voluntary non-governmental organization, the Yemeni Association for Reproductive Health (YARH) is registered with the Ministry of Social Affairs. YARH became an IPPF Member Association in 2010.  Through 2 clinics and 1 youth-friendly service centre, the Member Association provides quality services to the people of Yemen. It has 72 volunteers and staff working on HIV and AIDS issues, and on the promotion of awareness amongst young people to empower them to make informed decisions concerning their sexual and reproductive health (SRH). YARH plays a key role in building strategic partnerships with other organisations concerned with young people's programmes in Yemen, and involves the young in identifying, articulating, implementing, monitoring and evaluating youth-friendly projects.  YARH is a powerful advocate for political support for sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR). Critical partnerships include the Ministry of Public Health (Department of Reproductive Health, National AIDS programme, General Directorate for Women's and Child's Health); the Ministry of Youth and Sports (Scouts, guides, and Sport Clubs); San'a University; the Population Research and Studies Centre; local NGOs active in population and reproductive health; private universities (Science and Technology Colleague); and human rights, women and gender organizations (including the Women's National Committee and the National Information Centre). The Caribbean Family Planning Affiliation (CFPA) is the only regional non-governmental organization (NGO) devoted to family planning and sexual and reproductive health in the Caribbean. CPFA serves 12 island Member Associations and 5 Associate Member Associations in the Caribbean, Central and South America. It supports these Associations with technical assistance and materials, and represents their collective interests at IPPF meetings and in the Caribbean region among governments and NGOs. CFPA Member Associations are located in Anguilla, Antigua, Aruba, Bahamas, Bermuda, Curacao, Dominica, Grenada, Guadeloupe, Martinique, St. Lucia and St. Vincent. CFPA Associate Member Associations are located in Belize, Barbados, Guyana, Jamaica, Suriname, and Trinidad and Tobago. The CFPA does not offer any clinical services or distribute family planning methods to clients, but rather focuses its work on governance and institution-building among its Member Associations. The CFPA oversees, manages and analyses core grants to 7 Caribbean Member Associations. The CFPA also submits project proposals for donor funding on behalf of the Associations.

Formed in 1965, today the Association Guadeloupéenne pour le Planning Familial (AGPF), also known as La Maternite Consciente, oversees maternal and child welfare, and manages immunization, sexually transmitted infections (STIs) and HIV/AIDS programmes. It also monitors other work and needs related to sexual and reproductive health (SRH). It operates 5 clinics, which provide contraceptive services, emergency contraception, pregnancy tests, pap smears, STI screening and pre- and post-abortion counselling. AGPF also delivers outreach educational services on contraception and SRH in Creole, to promote the use of clinical services, particularly among migrants from neighbouring islands such as Dominca, Haiti and St.Lucia, who frequently wish to use SRH services but are unable to pay. AGPF's principal source of income is the local government, called the Conseile Generale. Founded in 1976, the Dominica Planned Parenthood Association (DPPA) focused on providing information and education to support the government’s clinical service delivery programme in its early years. It began delivering contraceptive services in response to the significant contraceptive needs of Dominicans (particularly among teenagers), and the staffing constraints of the government programme. As a result, people could be sure of at least one inexpensive, private outlet where their family planning needs could be fully met. DPPA’s clinic is located the centre of the capital city and provides a range of services including family planning, pregnancy tests, family counselling and PAP smear screening. There’s an established community outreach programme which provides family planning through volunteers and shop owners, and an extensive programme of information and education activities. These include distributing pamphlets and posters, broadcasting short talks about family planning on radio and television and conducting community discussions. The negative effects of Dominca’s high adolescent pregnancy rate are aggravated by local practices that force pregnant girls to drop out of school permanently. To reach young people, DPPA provides sexuality and life skills education in secondary schools and to adolescents outside the school system through rap sessions, lectures, discussions and films. DPPA has also established an Under 20 Club, a teen group that trains its members as peer educators. The Sexual Health and Family Planning Australia (SH&FPA) is a non grant-receiving Associate and also functions as a federation that comprises sexual health and family planning organizations across the country. It is the national voice of these organizations and represents their interests and perspectives at national and international levels. Projects are shared among these member organizations within Australia and outside of the country, SH&FPA works in partnership primarily with sister IPPF Member Associations. SH&FPA maintains a dynamic international programme in South East Asia and the Pacific. The major strategies of the programme are focused on enhancing the management and delivery of sexual and reproductive health care and education delivered by or with local organizations in a sustainable setting. AusAID funds most of this work. For up to 80 years, SH&FPA member organizations in each state and territory have looked after the sexual and reproductive health needs of a large number of Australians. SH&FPA member organizations provide a wide range of sexual and reproductive health services that focus on prevention, early intervention, diagnosis and treatment, and community and professional education. Member organizations deliver clinical services, which include pap smears, breast checks, sexually transmitted infection (STI) checks and counselling services (including HIV), consultations, counselling and provision of contraceptives, pregnancy tests and counselling, treatment and counselling for menopause problems, and information and education services for the public around reproduction, contraceptive methods and relationships and self-esteem. The Foundation for the Promotion of Responsible Parenthood (FPRP) runs 2 permanent clinics and provides a range of sexual and reproductive health (SRH) services to the people of Aruba.  FPRP is part of an umbrella organization known as the Caribbean Family Planning Affiliation (CFPA). It is the only regional non-governmental organization (NGO) devoted to family planning and sexual and reproductive health in the Caribbean. CFPA serves 13 island Member Associations and 5 Associate Member Associations in the Caribbean, Central and South America. It supports these Associations with technical assistance and materials, and represents their collective interests at IPPF meetings and in the Caribbean region among governments and NGOs. Set up in 1957, the Mauritius Family Planning & Welfare Association (MFPWA) was one of the earliest organizations in Africa focusing on family planning issues. As the nation struggled to find a way to address pressing population issues, a group of advocates formed MFPWA and started to provide services directly to women. Today, the organization caters to the sexual and reproductive health (SRH) needs of the whole community. It also has particular strands of activity relating to specific groups including sexually abused children, elderly people and marginalized populations on Rodrigues Island.  Through 2 permanent facilities, and a private sector-supported daycare centre, MFPWA’s 15 staff and 550 volunteers deliver services including family planning, the prevention and management of HIV and AIDS through voluntary counselling and testing (VCT), support for people living with HIV/AIDS, infertility management, antenatal and post-natal care, post-abortion care, the diagnosis and treatment of sexually transmitted infections (STIs) and screening for cancers of the reproductive systems. The Member Association also operates peer-educator-led outreach programmes targeting hotels, export processing zones and popular tourist hot spots.  MFPWA has played a critical role in promoting the integration of family life education into the national school curriculum and its powerful, informed advocacy has been influential in shaping government legislation on SRH, particularly in relation to HIV and AIDS. MFPWA partners with and advises government departments which address health, quality of life, women’s rights, child development, family welfare, social security and youth and sports. Established in 2004 by Her Majesty the Queen of Bhutan, Respect, Educate, Nurture, Empower Women (RENEW) became an Associate Member Association of IPPF in November 2009. It aims to be the leading organization in shaping the future role of women in Bhutanese Society, helping to reduce vulnerabilities while nurturing and empowering them. Their work is focused on reaching poor, disadvantaged and adolescent girls and women. RENEW has a widespread community-based support (CBS) system (established in 20 districts), and a community outreach programme run from the RENEW centre. Work focuses on sensitization with regard to HIV and AIDS, education in family planning approaches and contraceptive methods, and enhancing the safety of pregnancy and childbirth. A clear problem in Bhutan is the unequal position of women. One of the expressions of gender inequality is high levels of gender-based violence (GBV) which is seen as a natural part of married life, and not as an issue. RENEW has a vigorous education programme designed to reverse such attitudes. Bhutan is a unique country: all development is based on promoting Gross National Happiness (GNH), and comprehensive sexual and reproductive health (SRH) services, acceptance of every individual’s sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR), and the practical realization of those rights are regarded as critical components in increasing GNH. Given this political context, RENEW has ambitious targets. Although it has only been established for 10 years, it is making remarkable strides towards the achievement of better SRH and SRHR outcomes for the nation and its people.
